Fire
Risk
Ventilation Duct work and Kitchen extract ducting constitute a potential
fire hazard. Grease deposits that are left to build up in an extract
system could ignite causing a fire to spread rapidly through the
entire system. Current legislation and Approved Codes of Practice
clearly state ventilation and extract systems should be regularly
inspected and cleaned.
Employees Health
Bacteria and Fungi will grow and be breathed in by employees if
Ductwork is left dirty or poorly maintained. This may result in
Sick Building Syndrome causing unnecessary absenteeism. Regular
Cleaning and Sanitising will prevent this.
